Marjorie M. Wells, 90, formerly of Atchison, KS died on Friday, May 18, 2017 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Lawrence, KS.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 23rd from 1:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Dream Fund III or Trinity Lutheran School Technology Fund and may be sent in care of the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Marjorie was born on September 1, 1926 in White Cloud, Kansas the daughter of Charles B. and Jennie B. (Thomas) Cash. She attended Atchison Public Schools and had worked for years as a stock clerk for the former F.W. Woolworth’s Store and S.S. Kresge’s, Atchison. Mrs. Wells’s joy in life was being a wife and mother. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, was an active member of the Priscilla Guild at Trinity, and attended Morning Break, ladies Bible Study Group at church. She had also helped by calling families to help with funeral dinners and enjoyed sports and “John Wayne “movies. Marjorie was known by many as a wonderful cook and a fantastic dessert maker.

She was married to Lohman C. “Bill” Wells, on April 28, 1945 in Leavenworth, KS. He preceded her in death in July, 1990. Survivors include a son, Terry C. and daughter-in-law Joan Wells, Lawrence, KS, and nephew Dan Wells, nieces Pamela Gholson, Georgena King, and Candace Tellez. Her parents, husband, a brother, George J. Cash, and sister, Wilma Grace Wells also preceded her in death.
