Leona A. Vogelsberg, 90, of Atchison, KS, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Atchison Medicalodge.
She has been cremated under the direction of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. The family will have a private family burial of cremated remains at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, KS. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society or USD 409 and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com.
Leona was born February 6, 1928, in Ellsworth, KS, the daughter of Robert and Helen Marie (Zavesky) Gwinner. She graduated from Brown Mackie Business College in 1968. Leona worked for American Family as an insurance underwriter, and later as a para professional for USD 233 and 409.
Survivors include her children: Douglas (Connie) Vogelsberg, Don (Karen) Vogelsberg, David (Lori) Vogelsberg, Janet (Bob) Adrian, Kathy (Mark) Swanson, daughter in law Debi Vogelsberg, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Mike Vogelsberg, two brothers, Joe and Robert Gwinner and a sister, Doris Keeler.
