Charles Robert "Bob"  Shaver
Charles Robert “Bob” Shaver, 71, of Atchison, KS died on Thursday, Feb. 15th, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Trinity Lutheran School Grant Fund. Bob was born on Dec. 1, 1946 in Atchison, Kansas the son of Clarence H. and Leona J. (Bane) Shaver. He graduated from Atchison High School in 1964, attended Highland Community College and received his B.S. Degree in Finance and Business from Pittsburg State University. Mr. Shaver was a U.S. Army veteran serving during Vietnam Conflict. After returning from the service he worked for a short time in the finance dept of Shell Oil. He then owned and operated “Shaver Landscaping” in Atchison for many years until his health forced him to stop. Mr. Shaver finished his working career at Walmart for several years.
Bob enjoyed working with youth as a basketball coach for Trinity Lutheran Grade School and Mount St. Scholastica Academy. He was an avid KU Basketball fan, as well as KC Royal and KC Chief’s fan. He especially enjoyed watching his children and later his grandchildren play sports.

He was married to Georgia Young on May 24, 1968 at the First Baptist Church, Atchison, KS. Gerogia survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Melodi A. (Max) Bona, Lenexa, KS, and Misti A. (Dan) Wilson, Cummings, KS, three brothers, Clarence H. Shaver, III, Boise, ID, Larry D. Shaver, Scottsdale, AZ, and Harold E. “Hal” Shaver, Overland Park, KS, and four grandchildren, Bailey R. Wilson, Brianna N, Madeline N. and Andrew R. Bona. His parents, and sister, Patty Lou Shaver preceded him in death.
