Raymond Eugene Elias, 61, of Atchison Kansas died unexpectedly on Sat. Dec.30, 2017 at the Atchison Hospital.

Funeral services will be 2:30 pm on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials contributions are suggested to help with final expenses. The body will be cremated following the service and interment of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Atchison, KS. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Raymond was born on Oct. 21, 1956 in Atchison KS the son of Alfred Joseph and Rosemary (Meier) Elias, Sr. He attended the Good Intent grade school and graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1974. He worked at the Unit Rail Anchor for 32 years, retiring in 2006 as the shipping manager. Raymond enjoyed hunting, fishing, wood-working, was an avid John Wayne fan, and especially enjoyed his children and grandchildren.

He was married to Julie Trower on July 31, 1976 at St. Louis Church, Good Intent, KS. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include two sons, Eric Elias, and Jerad Elias, both of Atchison, KS, a daughter, Monica (Michael) Linck, Atchison, KS, two brothers, Alfred Joseph ”Joe” Elias, Jr, and Patrick (Lori) Elias both of Atchison, KS, three sisters, Linda Crossland, Atchison, KS, Janet Elias, Joplin, MO, and Susan (Tim) Nash, Warrenton, MO, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. His parents, and three brothers, Don, Tommy, and Jimmy Elias preceded him in death.
