Doris Elaine Krusemark, 93, of Atchison died Sunday, July 9th, 2017 at the Atchison Senior Village.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, July 13th, 2017 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Russ Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday, at the First Christian Church, Atchison. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church, Benedictine College or Northeast Kansas Hospice and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave, Atchison, KS which is handling the arrangements. Doris Elaine Lovgren was born on March 19, 1924 in Atchison, KS the daughter of David E. and Geneva (Fletcher) Lovgren. Elaine graduated from Atchison High School in 1942 and attended the Mt. Saint Scholastica College. She worked as office manager and nurse’s aide for Dr. Charles Young for many years. Elaine was an active member and former deaconess for the First Christian Church, where she also sang in the choir since 1946. She also played the violin, played in the handbell choir, and sang with the Sweet Adelines. Elaine enjoyed singing, music, painting, attending concerts, and especially babysitting the grandchildren.

She was married to Robert F. Krusemark Sr. on April 19, 1944 in Atchison, KS. Mr. Krusemark preceded her in death on May 8, 2001. Survivors include four sons, Robert F.(Cynthia) Krusemark, Jr, Port Jefferson, NY, Dr. William D.(Susan) Krusemark, Kansas City, MO., Lt. Col (Ret) Thomas W. (Renee’) Krusemark, Dayton, Ohio and Daniel L. (Mary Ann) Krusemark, Atchison, KS., a daughter, Dr. Ruth Krusemark, Atchison, KS., twelve grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren. Her parents, step-mother Hannah Krusemark Lovgren, husband Robert, and sister Helen Otte, preceded her in death.
