Darla R. (Horton) Ernzen, 45, of Atchison, KS died Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Friday, July 29th, 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Amy Stanton officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Thursday, July 28th, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Bikers for Babies or Helping Hand for the Holidays and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Darla was born on May 21, 1971 in Atchison KS, the daughter of Joseph A. and Mary Josephine (Gorrell) Cline. She was adopted by her step-father, Jim Horton at the age of two. She had earned her GED from Highland Junior College and went on to receive her Administrative Assistant Degree from Atchison Vo-Technical School. Darla had worked several places in Atchison including Dairy Queen, Pizza Hut, DeAnn’s Floral, and Wal-Mart. She presently had been employed by Triumph Foods as a line worker. She had attended Trinity Lutheran Church, and enjoyed flowers, decorating, crafts, motorcycle riding, Karaoke singing and especially her grandchildren.

Darla was married to John Ernzen on Nov. 2, 1991. They were later divorced. She is survived by one son, Cody Joseph Michael Horton, Norton, KS, two daughters, Corilea Angeline Joshell Ernzen, and Johnnalyn Darlene Nicole (Daniel) Kissick, all of St. Joseph, MO., four brothers, Matthew Horton, Atchison, KS, Joseph Horton, Iron Mountain, MI, Michael Horton, Diana, TX, and Charles Cline, Kentucky, five sisters, Kate Horton, Atchison, KS, Michelle (Horton) Ramsey, Lawton, OK, Carrie, Jessica, and Dawn Cline, of Kentucky, three grandchildren, Caleb James Michael Horton, Kaylah Marie Horton, and Maddylin Danae Kissick and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, a sister, Angie Horton, and nephew, James Horton preceded her in death.
