Aaron Lee Adams, 80, of Atchison, KS died Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at his home in Atchison, KS.

Graveside services and burial of cremated remains will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS with Rev. Stephen Lucas officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am to 10:00 am on Tuesday at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Faith Bible Fellowship or the First Baptist Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Aaron was born on January 5, 1936 in Atchison KS the son of John Quincy and Lucille (Draper) Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from the United States Navy, where he worked as a Postal Clerk for over 25 years. He was a member of the Faith Bible Fellowship and enjoyed everything to do with Alaska and he lived in Alaska for close to 15 years before moving back to Atchison in 2005. Mr. Adams was a cat lover and was interested in woodworking.

He was married to Shirley Miller on Aug. 5, 1954. Mrs. Adams preceded him in death on Jan. 31, 2013. Survivors include a son, Steve (Donna) Adams, Bremerton, WA, three daughters, Jeanine (Dennis) Weinmann, Atchison KS, Karen Smith, Leavenworth, KS, and Penny (Joe) Garcia, Atchison KS, a sister, Linda (Jim) Miller, Atchison KS, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. His parents, two brothers, Richard and Larry Adams, and one sister, Louise (Babe) Auger, preceded him in death.
