Merle Francis Noll, 77, of Savannah, MO, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at the Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, MO.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in the Mooney Creek Community of Winchester, KS. Cremation will follow and burial will take place at a later date in the Corpus Christi Church Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Monday, with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm at the O’Trimble Funeral Home, 329 Main St., Nortonville, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Lung Association or Maur Hill-Mount Academy and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Merle was born on July 30, 1938 on the family farm in the Mooney Creek Community, the son of August and Alvera (Schrick) Noll. Merle graduated from Maur Hill, served in the Kansas National Guard and had farmed in the Mooney Creek area until he retired from farming; he then worked for Anacon Foods in Atchison for several years. Merle was a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Mooney Creek; Pineview Country Club, Atchison; and Duncan Hills Golf Course, Savannah. Merle loved to fish and golf and dabble in the stock market . He had been Club Champion at both Pineview and Duncan Hills several times.

Merle married Mary Ellen Thomas on August 25, 1959. They later divorced. Merle was preceded in death by Mary Ellen, his parents; brothers, Don and Charles Noll; and sister, Marcelene Crossland Trainer.

Survivors include sons; Roger (Shelly) Noll, Brooklyn, CT, Russ (Marcia) Noll, Oskaloosa, KS, Ray Noll, Chicago, IL; daughters, Robyn (Phil) Handke, Atchison, Rachael (Joseph) Domann, Atchison, and Randi (Jim Berwick) Campbell, Colorado Springs, CO; brothers, Daryl Noll, New Orleans, LA, and Rick Noll, Leavenworth, KS; sisters, Joyce Noll Gipple, Anthony, KS and Glenda Noll Moffatt, West Palm Beach, FL; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
