Charles T. Vanderweide, Jr., 75, of Atchison, KS passed away Friday, January 15, 2016, unexpectedly at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Atchison, KS, with Abbot Barnabus Senecal, OSB as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Mt.Calvary Cemetery, Atchison, KS. A parish rosary will be recited at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, January 19, 2016, with visitation following until 8:00 PM, at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS. Charles was born August 21, 1940, in Atchison, KS, the son of Charles and Lucy (Schuele) Vanderweide, Sr. He graduated from Maur Hill Prepatory School. Charles was an automotive mechanic for GM dealerships in the Atchison and Leavenworth, KS areas. He was a member of St. Benedict’s Parishes. Charles enjoyed farming and gardening.
Charles is survived by four brothers; Stephen and Alice Vanderweide, Atchison, KS, Vincent and Karen Vanderweide, Atchison, KS, Mark and Linda Vanderweide, Cummings, KS, Al and Mary Ann Vanderweide, Shawnee, KS, three sisters; June Marie Bird, Overland Park, KS, Marjorie Vanderweide, Leavenworth, KS and Teresa Swarts, Olathe, KS, twenty-one nieces and nephews and many great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
