Mary Juanita Rockey, 84, of Atchison KS died Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Atchison Hospital surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Thursday, Dec. 17th, 2015 at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Robert Ziegler officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memory Gardens, Atchison. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Thursday at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Building & Grounds Foundation and may be sent in care of the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home who is handling the arrangements. Juanita was born on July 24th, 1931 in Denver, CO, the daughter of Charles L. and Fern (Chew) Park. She graduated from Eureka High School, Eureka, KS in 1950. She was a homemaker and housewife. Juanita was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church; Pastor’s Adult Bible Class, the Altar Guild, sang in the church choir and attended many TEAM Classes. She enjoyed knitting, reading, music, stuffed animals and her pets.

Juanita was married to Richard E. Rockey on Oct. 26, 1952 in Robinson, KS. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 2013. Survivors include a son; Michael A. Rockey, Shawnee Mission, KS., three daughters; Mary Jean Jessip, Everest, KS., Kathy Rockey, and Jeri Rockey, both of Atchison, four grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Her parents, husband Richard, a brother, William E. Hill, and half sister, Mary Jones preceded her in death.
