Lewis Tucker Kew, 91, of Atchison, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Medicalodge of Atchison.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, KS, with The Rev. Dr. Rachel Dannar officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Benedictine College or Atchison Humane Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online

Lewis was born October 11, 1924, in Atchison, KS the son of James and Ora (Tucker) Kew. He graduated from St. Benedict’s College with a Bachelors degree in chemistry. Lewis served in the United States Army during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He worked and retired from Pillsbury as a cereal chemist. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the American Association of Cereal Chemists. Lewis enjoyed electronics, radio, cooking, gardening and doing genealogical research on the computer.

Lewis married Margaret Davis on September 6, 1957, in Omaha, NE. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2013. Survivors include two sons; Craig Kew, Atchison, KS and James Kew, Atchison, KS.

He was also preceded in death by his parents.
