Ronald George Dove, 72, Hemet, California, died Monday, Aug. 10th, 2015 at Desert Hills Memory Care, Hemet, CA.

No memorial services are scheduled. Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home will be handling burial of cremated remains in the Horton Cemetery, Horton, KS. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Ron may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Ronald was born on March 20, 1943 in Horton, Kansas, the son of Henry Frank and Margaret Rose (White) Dove. He moved to Atchison as a young boy and graduated from Atchison High School in 1961. He attended college at Emporia State College and graduated with a degree from Penn Valley in Kansas City. He was in the Air National Guard’s in St. Joseph, Missouri. He worked for a while at Union Pacific Railroad before joining Butler Manufacturing Corporation in Kansas City. Butler then transferred him to one of their branches in California. He enjoyed the casinos, running marathons, golf, traveling, family and friends.

He married Donna Marie Vander Weide on December 26, 1985 in Kansas City. She preceded him in death on November 24, 2013. Survivors include three brothers, Henry (Eunice) Dove, Victoria, Texas, Don (Phyllis) Dove, Atchison KS and Jerry (Joan) Dove, Topeka, KS and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, wife and brother Terry Dove.
