Brenda Sue Underwood, 48 of DeKalb, MO died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Mosiac Life Center, St. Joseph, MO.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 5h, 2015 at the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison, KS. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Monday, May 4th, 2015 at the Becker Dyer Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences and memories to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com.

Brenda was born on Jan. 26th, 1967 in Atchison Kansas the daughter of Jerry and Linda (Dugger) Winterscheidt. She graduated from DeKalb High School in 1985. Brenda was a housewife and homemaker. She had attended DeKalb Christian Church, and enjoyed puzzles, playing bingo, and her many pets and animals.

She was married to Frankie Underwood in 1994. Mr. Underwood survives in Kansas City, MO. Additional survivors include two sons, Scott (Lindsay) Underwood, Olathe, KS., Shawn Underwood, of the home, her mother Linda Stahl, Atchison, KS., her father, Jerry (Brenda) Winterscheidt, Rushville, MO, step-father, Steve Boffman, Harrisonville, MO, three brothers, Kevin Winterscheidt, Atchison, KS., Duane (Kim) Winterscheidt, Lansing, KS., and JB (TJ) Winterscheidt, DeKalb, MO., a granddaughter who lived with Brenda as a daughter, Kyley Thornington, of the home and two additional grandchildren, Hudson and Avi Underwood. Several nieces and nephews and a special friend Gail Flory, Rushville, MO. A son Dustin Underwood preceded her in death in Nov. 2006.
